Toronto Taste

Toronto Taste is the premier gourmet fundraiser supporting Second Harvest bringing together the city’s over 60 of Toronto’s best chefs, over 20 of the best beverage providers, and over 1500 guests all supporting Second Harvest, a common-sense program that connects excess, fresh food with those in need.

Alexa joined Second Harvests Toronto Taste steering committee to integrate digital and social media into the Toronto Taste experience, thereby extending raising awareness about the event and building community with participants.

Alexa is co-chair or the Toronto Taste Communications Committee and Social Media Lead.

In 2011, the event broke the record for funds raised. Guests and sponsors responded enthusiastically to the Twitter wall and pre-event activities. The new social strategy both pre- and during event provided a massive lift in followers including both passive, active and existing advocates.

Ive worked with Alexa on a few projects over the past decade. Alexa’s the true innovator, keen collaborator, and gifted community-builder every marketer and PR professional dreams of having on their team. She’s extraordinarily thorough and strategic in her work, yet very efficiency-minded and willing to take calculated risks. She brings deep insight and Einstein-like technological smarts to the table, but she’s able to translate the most complex ideas into very simple explanations with context and a great sense of humour.

Above all, I always appreciate the heart and soul Alexa brings to the table. Particularly in our work together on Second Harvest’s Toronto Taste, it helps tremendously in keeping our team enthusiastic and focused on the cause.

I have had the extreme pleasure of working directly with Alexa on the Toronto Taste Communications Committee for the past 5 years. Alexa brings enthusiasm, creativity and most importantly solutions to the table.

Alexas support has helped raise the profile of not only Toronto Taste, but also Second Harvest, which is a central goal of the Committee which she supports. She is a team player till the end and I strongly believe that anyone would be lucky to work with her.

To say that Alexa Clark is an expert in her field would be stating the obvious. What is not obvious when reading through Alexas many, well founded qualifications is that she leads with patience, humour and consistency and she packages that up with great results. Alexa is an inspiring member of any team!

I highly recommend working with Alexa. In her volunteer role as our social media lead on the Toronto Taste Committee, Alexa has brought innovative ideas to the table, then executed them with ease. She implemented new elements that drove results and engaged stakeholders at many levels, all while managing a team of volunteers as well.

She has played a critical role in the overall success of Second Harvests largest single fundraiser. I consider her to be an invaluable member of our team.

Alexa knows how to leverage social media in a mutually-beneficial way, satisfying the needs of both Second Harvest and Toronto Taste attendees. She continues to be instrumental in engaging Torontos food & social media communities to make the event a huge success, particularly in the online world.

If you are looking for someone to make sense of how social media fits into your organizations strategy, Alexa is your gal!
